Cape Fear Independent Film Festival

Want to become a part of one of the most popular film festivals in Wilmington?  Are you interested in being a supporter of indie filmmakers?  Now is the time to contribute to the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival Indie Go Go Campaign!

The Cape Fear Independent Film Network (CFIFN) started as a way for independent filmmakers to connect and share resources and ideas. Movies started getting made, but they had nothing in place to get them seen by the public. So they formed a 501c3 and started a series of small public film screenings of local and regional works. But everything that's small has to grow, so now CFIFN is a 4 day, multi-venue, annual event.  They have celebrity hosts and guest speakers from all over the country and films from all over the world.  Past hosts have included: Nick Searcy (Justified), Danielle Panabaker (Piranha 3D) and Joe Manganiello (Spiderman & True Blood). CFIFN has shown films from such countries as Sweden, Germany, Spain, Serbia, India, Israel and The United Arab Emirates. They have hosted North Carolina Premieres of great independent films like THE CAKE EATERS (starring Kristen Stewart) and SAVAGE (starring Martin Kove). But despite the growth they've seen, the organization has not forgotten how we started. CFIFN still shows films every year made right in our own back yard.  The festivals pays special attention to any film shot in North Carolina. Ultimately, their goal is to have NC films viewed within the larger context of worldwide film. We want our audience to "Think Global, Watch Local".

Christopher Walken Impressions

Christopher Walken is one of greatest actors of our time.  His films and his performances are noteworthy in the history of cinema.  However, what about the countless actors and comedians that love to impersonate him?

I've found that Mr. Walken is one of the most "imitated" actors in Hollywood.  His distinct voice, style, and charisma is what makes him so easy to replicate in a satirical way.  Not all of his impressions are "spot-on", but you get the gist of what his style is like based on the impersonations.

Take a look below at clips of celebrities and others impersonating the one and only Christopher Walken:

Kevin Pollack as Christopher Walken

Some guy on Whose Line Is It Anyway as Christopher Walken

Kevin Spacey as Christopher Walken

 Jay Mohr as Christopher Walken

Ryan Reynolds as Christopher Walken

Eddie Izzard as Christopher Walken

The Raven

Opening Nationwide April 27, 2012

Directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta, Ninja Assassin)

Starring John Cusack as famed poet EDGAR ALLAN POE (Being John Malkovich, 2012)
Luke Evans as INSPECTOR EMMETT FIELDS (Immortals, The Three Musketeers, soon to be seen in The Hobbit)

Alice Eve as EMILY (Sex and the City 2, soon to be seen in Men In Black III and the Star Trek sequel)
Brendan Gleeson as COLONEL HAMILTON (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, In Bruges, The Guard) & Oliver Jackson-Cohen as CANTRELL (Faster)

In this gritty thriller, Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack) joins forces with a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans) to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders. Directed by James McTeigue, the film also stars Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

When a mother and daughter are found brutally murdered in 19th century Baltimore, Detective Emmett Fields (Luke Evans) makes a startling discovery: the crime resembles a fictional murder described in gory detail in the local newspaper—part of a collection of stories penned by struggling writer and social pariah Edgar Allan Poe. But even as Poe is questioned by police, another grisly murder occurs, also inspired by a popular Poe story.

Realizing a serial killer is on the loose using Poe’s writings as the backdrop for his bloody rampage, Fields enlists the author’s help in stopping the attacks. But when it appears someone close to Poe may become the murderer’s next victim, the stakes become even higher and the inventor of the detective story calls on his own powers of deduction to try to solve the case before it’s too late.

Written by Ben Livingston and Hannah Shakespeare, Produced by Trevor Macy, Marc D. Evans and Aaron Ryder, Executive Produced by Jesus Martinez Asencio, Glen Basner and James D. Stern
