Dolls For Strangers

A short film made entirely in Myrtle Beach and Conway, SC has been hitting film festivals the past couple of months.  "Dolls for Strangers," written and directed by Myrtle Beach resident Ken Cohen, stars all local talent and used a Director of Photography out of Wilmington, NC, Joe Ensley.  The film is about a young man who starts making  voo-doo dolls for people in hopes of gaining an explanation on why his sister became mysteriously paralyzed.  So far it has been the Official Selection of this year's Fort Myers Film Festival and Charleston Film Festival, where it won a Regional Short Film Award.

Takeover!

Takeover! follows Full Service—a hungry and determined independent band from Austin, Texas—as they embark on an experiment called the “Takeover Tour”; a sixteen-city tour of amphitheatre parking lots. Uninvited and unknown, they follow national acts 311 and Snoop Dogg, playing unsanctioned shows for tailgaters outside the venues. What starts as a strategic plan to boost their fan-base quickly turns into a test of the very character and heart of the band itself. As they battle police, venue security, equipment failures, and each other, they learn just how far they are willing to go to live the dream.
