A personal indieseen favorite, the script for the film Reservoir Dogs was written in 3 days.  1992 was the year of the indie and Tarantino made his mark as a film genius when he released this film.  There are so many great moments in this film and the memorable quotes are enough to fill a book.  The opening scene of this film takes place in a diner and Mr. Pink played by the great Steve Buscemi doesn't like to tip.  Here's his philosophy on why does doesn't like tipping.

This is by far the best scene in this film and the scene that gave Samuel L. Jackson his Oscar nomination. Jules Winnfield was cool as hell in this scene.

Remember this 1991 film by Spike Lee?  It was a controversial film and certainly ahead of its time.  The dicussion of interracial relationships in the 20th century became a national debate.  Take a look at the clip below about perceptions of race and dating back in the 90's...

Shutup, listen, and learn!  Remember that quote from Swimming With The Sharks?  Kevin Spacey plays the annoying film executive and who makes the life every assistant that who works for him a living hell!  Today is Guy's (played by Frank Whaley) first day at work and he hears the first--of many rants--from Buddy Ackerman about how he runs his office.

The Sweet N Low scene is the one of the monumental scenes in this great indie film directed by George Huang.

Classic indie 80's movie about those evil bitches from high school!  You would have to have lived under a rock not to know about this cult hit.  This is the scene where Veronica was conned by JD into playing a prank by shooting a gun loaded with fake bullets to two of their high school classmates.

We later find out those bullets were real...

Veronica confronts JD in the car about it, and the coolest moment is when JD lights his cigarette with Veronica's hand that she attempts to burn with a car lighter.

Richard Linklater's animated film about the human condition is a great character piece.   This scene is about how each of us in our daily mundane lives seem to feel content with being on "zombie auto-pilot" so to speak, rather than have real human interaction with other people.

It's a pretty cool scene and also speaks to living life based on moments and experiences rather than just living life to get by...

The Salton Sea is an intense film that asks the question,  "how far one would go to venge the death of a loved one?"  Val Kilmer plays Danny Parker who goes undercover to find the men that killed his wife.  He plays the role of a drug dealer.

In the clip below Danny and his partner Jimmy the Finn (who has no idea Danny is undercover) scores from a local low-end dealer.  The scene is funny and sad all at the same time.  The effects of drugs and the danger Danny is willing to put himself in, to find the men who took away his only love.

What I really dig about this scene is the subtextual contrast of the lovely angelic vocals of Minnie Riperton's "Loving You" playing in the background along with the intensity of this scene.  Classic!

Here at NCIndieSeen we LOVE movies!  Here is a clip of a scene from the film Before Sunrise directed by Richard Linklater.  Jesse (Ethan Hawke) meets Celine (Julie Delphy) on a train in Europe.  Two strangers from opposites sides of the world have a chance encounter and end of spending one of the most imporant and memorable night of their lives. 


In this scene Jesse tries to convicne Celine to spend the day with him in Vienna and check out the town.  This is the pivotal moment that begins the lovely journey between these two and turns out to be time well spent...until next time.
