The Cape Fear Independent Film Network (CFIFN) is proud to announce the 12th Annual Cape Fear Independent Film Festival (CFIFF).  The event will be held in downtown Wilmington April 26-29, 2012.  The festival will screen films from around the globe and many shot right here in North Carolina.  Additional activities will include seminars, panel discussions, social and networking events.

This year our venues include The Browncoat Theatre, Nutt St. Comedy Room and City Stage Theater.

Our celebrity host for this year's festival is Julianna Guill (pronounced 'gwill' ).  This Winston-Salem, NC native has appeared in such TV shows as "One Tree Hill", "CSI:MIAMI", "How I Met Your Mother" and "Psych"; as well as major motion pictures including, "Altitude", "Friday the 13th" and "Crazy Stupid Love".  Past hosts have included Joe Manganiello (Spiderman, HBOs "True Blood"), Nick Searcy (Runaway Jury, FXs "Justified", Nina Ripeta (One Tree Hill), Ravi Patel (Transformers, Past Life), Danielle Panabaker (The Crazies, Piranha 3D).

The festival will kick off on Thursday, April 26th with the Regional Showcase. This extremely popular event features short films by local and regional filmmakers and truly celebrates filmmaking in the Cape Fear area.

The festival is capped off on Sunday, April 29th with the 2012 Wilmington Film Awards.  Since it's beginning, CFIFF has awarded the top films of the festival with trophies, prizes and cash.  Prizes are awarded in 10 different categories including Best Local Film.   Since 2000, the Cape Fear Independent Film Network has awarded over $25,000 in prizes and production assistance to local filmmakers.   To date, it is the only North Carolina film festival that awards cash prizes.

In 2006, CFIFN created the Creative Spirit Award in honor of local radio DJ and actor Wayne Bradley. Wayne was a dynamic media personality in the Wilmington area, involved in TV, radio and Independent movies and he was a big supporter of the CFI: Film Festival.  This award is given to one individual who exemplifies a fierce creative spirit partnered with a sense of community.   Finalists for the Creative Spirit Award will be announced in March.

The Cape Fear Independent Film Network (CFIFN) started as a way for independent filmmakers to connect and share resources and ideas. Movies started getting made, but they had nothing in place to get them seen by the public. So they formed a 501c3 and started a series of small public film screenings of local and regional works. But everything that's small has to grow, so now CFIFN is a 4 day, multi-venue, annual event.  They have celebrity hosts and guest speakers from all over the country and films from all over the world.  Past hosts have included: Nick Searcy (Justified), Danielle Panabaker (Piranha 3D) and Joe Manganiello (Spiderman & True Blood). CFIFN has shown films from such countries as Sweden, Germany, Spain, Serbia, India, Israel and The United Arab Emirates. They have hosted North Carolina Premieres of great independent films like THE CAKE EATERS (starring Kristen Stewart) and SAVAGE (starring Martin Kove). But despite the growth they've seen, the organization has not forgotten how we started. CFIFN still shows films every year made right in our own back yard.  The festivals pays special attention to any film shot in North Carolina. Ultimately, their goal is to have NC films viewed within the larger context of worldwide film. We want our audience to "Think Global, Watch Local".

Festival Friend: $1

For any amount donated, your name will be listed in the Official 2012 Festival Program as a "Friend Of The Festival". Just our way of letting the public know that you're awesome!

Festival Patron: $10

Receive a copy of the program (with your name in it), an official CFI: Film Festival pen and a thank you card from the Festival Director.

Festival Benefactor: $20

Receive a festival program autographed by our host and a personal "video thank you" from the festival director.

Festival Promoter: $35

Receive an autographed festival program, a personal "video thank you" from the festival director AND a Limited Edition Festival T-shirt!

Associate Producer: $50

Sponsor a filmmaker! One attending filmmaker will get a custom ID badge with your name on it as his/her sponsor. You also get 1 All Access Pass to the festival where you can attend screenings and meet your filmmaker. If you cannot attend the festival, we will record a "video thank you" from the filmmaker and send it to you.

Line Producer: $60

Receive 2 All Access Festival passes (a $120 value). Passes grant access to all screenings and parties. This is a 2 for 1 deal, so we have a VERY LIMITED supply of these available.

Segment Producer: $250

Sponsor a Festival Event. Receive an All Access Pass and introduce your event in person! Your name will be listed in the program and on the website by your event as "Presented By". If you can't attend, we will show a short video in front of your event: this can be a commercial for your business, promotion of your own event/project or just a "Hello" to fellow film fans. (Note: CFIFF has right of refusal on any video with objectionable or offensive content.)

Co-Producer: $350

Present an award at the Awards Ceremony! Walk the red carpet with the finalists and make a filmmaker's dream of recognition come true. Get onstage with the host and MC and present one award. Award category will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis. If you can't attend, you send a "presentation video" in your place or present via SKYPE. This option will be coordinated by festival staff.

Executive Producer: $1,000

Get an autographed festival program, T-shirt, 4 All Access passes, present an award at the Awards Ceremony AND A VIP PARTY thrown in your honor at the Film Festival. Invite 20 of your closest friends to party with attending filmmakers and other sponsors. A "Thank You" Banner with your name & picture will hang in the Filmmaker's Lounge all weekend and is yours to keep at the end of the festival. Finally, receive an Electronic Scrapbook with pictures of you having the time of your life!
