IndieSeen Favorite: Joe Pantoliano

This guy has been in sooo many movies.  The first time I saw Joe Pantoliano was as the tough captain always having something to bitch about in the movie Bad Boys.  I liked his Jersey accent and his suave demeanor.  The movie Bad Boys is only one in a string of movies he's been in.  Just pull up his IMDB profile, he's been in 128 films!  It's shocking to know this guy once studied to become a barber.....glad he dropped that day job!

I saw this quirky indie film called Second Best, where Pantoliano plays Elliot, a struggling screenwriter awaiting the home coming of his best friend who just so happens to be a Hollywood producer.  After wathcing the movie, I thought about how much I've admired his body of work.  From mainstream films like The Matrix to indie classics like Memento.  Outside of film he's remembered most for his work on the Emmy Award winning HBO hit The Sopranos

He seems to always plays the shady sleazebag type of characters.  Like the character of Caesar in Bound or one of the Fratelli brothers in The Goonies.  However, you gotta love this guy is every role he plays.  Although Joe is pretty famous in his own right, he's still considered to be a character actor, which I think best fits him.

Joe is currently filming the movie Loosies starring Peter Facinelli and Michael Madsen.  The flick is about a young pickpocket in the New York subways, living a fast, free, lifestyle is confronted by a woman whom he had a one night affair with, she informs him that she is now pregnant with his child.  Good stuff.

P.S.  I also like his signature kangol hat style!

Here's a trailer of the movie I watched this weekend Second Best that made me think of how much I admire Joe...
